I just picked up my VW Jetta from Shurway after having it completely repainted. The job is PERFECT! I could not be happier. The men from Shurway went over the car carefully and corrected and removed every defect - dings, dents, scratches, rusty patches and all - and gave me back a car with a beautifully fresh finish. This is the worst business, predatory towing, illegal fees, shady customer dealings. My car was towed by them illegally, and they tried to get over 400.00 for a single tow. Thank heaven for city advocates. IMHO, dont go here if you don't look like the owner, Angel. Yes, I mean your skin color. Terrible people. Avoid this place at all costs. I had my car taken here after an accident on 8/24. Went to the shop on 8/26 to have the car towed to another location. The quote they gave me on the phone was $175, when I got there they tried to charge me $450. I didn't have the money so decided to leave the car and let the insurance take care of it (car was totaled). What a mistake. Insurance sent a check to the garage on 9/17(?) and they still refused to release the car to a private tow company, they said the owner of the car hadn't given them the authorization to do so. Finally got them to release the car and the tow truck showed up with money (because they refuse to take a card over the phone) and the driver was told the bill was $200 more than they said on the phone. Every time you call they give a different price (when they feel like answering the phones and don't end up hanging up on you), and when you show up with cash they magically add money to the bill. Eventually ended up paying $500 because they kept the car a week longer than the insurance paid for. ...read more
