I find that whenever I am in a bind--caught between a rock and a hard place, facing life's latest challenge and not knowing which way to turn or which direction to follow, if I can remember tostop--that includes all thought and action--I am already halfway towards a solution. Yes, stopping alone is enough for my Inner Guide, Higher Self, Spriit, Soul (whatever you wish to call that mysterious, intelligent and benevolent force that stands ever ready to lead us humans out of the morasses we continually create for ourselves) to take over and ultimately lead me to a place I could never have imagined or created for myself, by myself. It is the magic of surrender of my little human will and ego and letting my soul take the lead that keeps me on this path. I tried the other way, the humanI know everything and can and will do itmywayfor most of my lifetime with far more failures than successes. I could never really buy into the "Let go and Let God" way of thinking or behaving. For beginners, I didn't trust this "Father-Mother-God." For if S/he was anything at all like my human parents, I was in big trouble. My back had to really get pushed up against it for me to give my new way of being a chance. I had to literally be facing death with no earthly solutions that I could or would accept before I was able to truly give up my ego and follow the direction of that Deep Inner Silence that can only be heard if we still the clamour of our thoughts.
