First things first, we end up servicing so many residential locations with people whom have tried to top off the tree themselves. It's possible that the tree branches grew into a power line, maybe it was obstructing the view of something that was needed to be seen daily. At any rate, this is not the right way to go, especially for the tree. After the tree is topped off, unsightly branches will grow back in an unnatural way causing a distorted look to a once beautiful tree. Proper Pruning can be done to insure that you get what you want. Topping off the tree is also known to be the worst thing you can do to your tree, it makes it more suceptible to insects and destroys its future growth-ability.
