I hired Garrett to do a bathroom remodel as he came recommended by a neighbor whose house he apparently did extensive remodeling on. They worked relatively quickly and were quite clean, however there were immediate issues with the work the "plumber" he used did. After replacing all plumbing in and to the upstairs bath, there was a leak to the first floor. He told me that this was minor, and that he once flooded someone's entire basement on a job (?!!) I should have realized at this point it was time to find a new contractor. They were able to fix it but obviously I started to get quite nervous about competence with Garrett and his team. Eventually work was complete, we paid the balance and moved on. Within a few weeks we had issues with our shower and the tile work that he completed. Grout lines cracking and shotty work led us to hire another contractor to take a look and start pulling apart Garrett's work. He found that tiles weren't adhered to the wall, the shower base he installed was left floating and not anchored to anything, all plumbing work was not done to code even though we went over that during negotiating (drain pipes reduced to 1.25", no traps installed etc). Basically, this bathroom was going to fall apart in no time at all. Only half of the bathroom has been repaired by a competent contractor and we'll have to re-do the rest in a few months as the tiles on the floor have shifted, grout has all cracked and come up, the floor wasn't leveled, the sink gurgles when the toilet is flushed because an "S" trap was installed instead of a "P", and who knows what else we'll find. We were without a shower for approximately four months during this whole fiasco, which is why we put fixing the rest of this mess on hold. I reached out to Garrett and did get some money back and while he was apologetic, I still feel like people should be well aware of who they are hiring to do such jobs, which is why I'm leaving this review... as a heads up to anyone thinking of using Garrett Belles. ...read more

I could write a complete page about all the problems I experienced with this company but to sum it up they ARE THE WORST! If I could do it over I would never use them. They did a horrible job on my roof and now the ceiling inside my house is caving in after only two years. They no longer exist. If ANYONE comes to your house to do repairs...slam the door in their face. If you didn't initiate it...don't let them come to you. They are also very unprofessional in their dealings with people. I used Bennett Contracting to sand our floors and finish them with new polyurethane. They also altered some plumbing in my bathroom. I am very pleased with Bennett and have used them several times. They are a little bit more expensive, but given how some contractors are not dependable I am willing to pay the little bit extra that it would cost for their service. Bennett Contracting reconstructed my sun room and put the siding on. They found some rot in the walls of the sunroom. They took out all the rot and put in new support. On the outside they put in a layer of new sub-siding and then they put on the aluminum siding. They did a nice job. I liked them. They were professional. They were on time. They cleaned up the mess. I had replacement windows put in my upstairs. I am very happy with the quality of the windows and the workmanship. Also, everything was done on time and when I went upstairs to clean up the mess I thought I'd be left with there was nothing! All I had to do was re-hang my curtains. We requested proposals from and interviewed several local companies before deciding to use Bennett Contracting. Their price and our interview with them was what made us choose them. They added 2 bedrooms to our existing house and, even though it has been a couple of years since the remodel, it still looks like new.\t\n\t\nWorking with Bennett Contracting was terrific. They were clean, quiet, on time, and came in ahead of schedule.
