RV Financing Benefits

Why Finance Your RV? When you finance your purchase instead of liquidating assets or paying cash, you maintain your personal financial flexibility. Plus, your RV may qualify for some of the same tax benefits as a second home mortgage. Of course, check with your tax advisor, but basically to qualify for these benefits, such as the deductibility of interest on the loan, the RV must be used as security for the loan along with providing basic living accommodations such as a sleeping area, bathroom and cooking facilities. Remember, the RV is considered a qualified second residence as long as you designate it for each tax year. What Are the Advantages of Financing Through a RV Lending Specialist? Down payments are lower - Although final terms are determined based on your credit profile and the age, type and cost of the RV being purchased, financing through RV lenders usually requires down payments in the 10% range. Finance terms are longer / Monthly payments are lower - Because RV finance specialists know that RVs maintain their value and resale appeal, they tend to offer more attractive terms. In fact, it's not uncommon to find 15-20 year repayment schedules to help you afford the RV of your dreams. How Does RV Financing Compare With Other Payment Options? Borrowing against an owned home is not an option unless the money is used directly for that home. Home mortgage interest deduction is restricted to interest paid on mortgage debt used to purchase or improve a residence, or to refinance the remaining balance on a purchase or improvement. The purchase of an RV, therefore, does not qualify for this deduction. Home equity loans limit the amount of interest that is deductible, if your RV loan balance exceeds $100,000. Home mortgage interest deduction is limited to interest paid on home equity loans up to $100,000. The Last Word on RV Financing Your RV might actually cost you less in the end if you finance your purchase. By not tapping into your financial assets to purchase the RV, you can take advantage of attractive new investment opportunities that might come along and the earnings from those investments can potentially exceed the cost of your RV financing. The bottom line is that if you are thinking of buying an RV, you should check financing options to maximize your purchase enjoyment. You'll be on the road enjoying your new RV before you know it! How to travel with your pets

I was never really a dog person, I preferred cats, but as people tend to change every 7 years, so did I.  Complete 180 switcharoo.  Now I love dogs, and can live without cats altogether. My dogs are pugs, 1 and 2 years old, named Lily and Carson.  I call them my therapy dogs because they make me laugh.  They are always doing something adorable or obnoxious enough to just make my day.  I can feel the blood pressure decreasing while I watch their daily antics and shenanigans.  I cannot wait everyday to get home and be greeted by two family members that love me unconditionally.  It's flattering actually, to have someone get so excited to see you they can't stand still!  But there's another side to this love between me and my dogs.  It's our extreme disgust for separation. My daughter and I were looking for cruises on Carnival Cruise Lines, and we found some doozy's down to St. Thomas.  I was all excited about booking my 7 day cruise that night on my home computer, when I looked over to see that little furry face staring up at me, tongue hanging out, tail wagging, and I swore Carson was saying, "where we going Mom?" There went that idea.  And it's not that they don't have a ton of friends to stay with, I'm by no means "grounded" by my dogs, but I just flat out didn't want to be without my guys for a whole week.  It wasn't happening.  So I spent the next 2 hours googling "take my dog on a cruise" and "pet friendly cruise lines". Nothing.  They just don't exist.  Looked like our vacation plans were back to road tripping it to the beach and staying in a crappy but dog friendly Motel 6.  There had to be someone else out there with my same situation.  And that's when I thought of it.  I could go anywhere in the greater United States of America, with my dogs in tow, in an RV!  I went to an RV Dealer the very next day, and what a day it was!  Now I'm a woman, and I love to shop, but shopping for an RV is an excitement I hadn't felt in quite awhile.  The salesperson looked at my S-10 Blazer and showed me what I could safely tow in a travel trailer.  They had a ton of light weight coaches.  But my cousin was staying with me, and my daughter would want to bring a friend, and we're tall people, so I wanted something big and roomy.  But could I afford a Class C Motorhome? The salesperson told me with $1500 down and 12 to 15 year terms, I could finance around $40,000 for $400 a month.  Class C's here I come!  I found 3 I wanted, so I brought my daughter and my dogs back that afternoon, and they picked "the one", and I agreed.  They showed us how everything worked inside and out, and even gave us everything from special toilet paper to hoses and fittings so we were ready to hit the road.  Now, when I get the desire to take a vacation, I don't go to my computer, I go to my front driveway.  :) ...read more
