My ex and I entered into mediation on our own (not court ordered) having never married we did not have a custody arrangment on paper and felt mediation could help us. Unfortunately the only thing we DID agree on was that Carolyn was NOT doing her job at all and was wasting our time and money! When a 2-week "trial" schedule was created and conflits arrose (he thought one thing, she thought another) shouldn't the mediatior have written record of what the "trial schedule" was in case of conflits/confusion arrising? We thought so, however when called to resolve the confustion she didn't have any documentation to what the "trial schedule" was, so we were still stuck with he said she said conflict! Also she requested that changes that came up in the schedule were to only be made through her, but then would not return phone calls (claiming she was out of town and cell range) causing more scheduling problems between myself ad my ex than we already had due to information not being relayed! If she was planning on being out of town in the short 2-week trial period, why would she request us to make changes directly through her? When asked for a reciept for the amount of hours we paid her for, she promtly put us off and wasn't wanting to provide anything. Upon further requests she stated she was too busy and would "try" to get to it, even though payment has already been made for the crappy service rendered. Shouldn't we be entitled to a receipt for our records? At $100.00 an hour, I would expect better record keeping and some sort of service rendered, isn't that part of her job?? ...read more
