As a home stager with my company Casa Vero, I visit and consult with lots of homeowners who are preparing their homes for sale. While some of them are totally ready to pack up and move on and to follow the advice I give them as a professional stager, others are ,,well,, not so much. One of the most dificult concepts for some homeowners to accept is the idea that the home they love will become a "product" that will need to be packaged (staged) properly in order to attract a buyer. It means letting go of a very personal attachment that many homeowners may have had for years. That basically, it's not your home anymore. By now, many Realtors and homeowners as well, have learned about the basics of de-cluttering and depersonalizing the home. You know,.. take down the family photos.. keep the beds made and the bathroom clean.. weed the garden, etc. And thanks to the popularity of the home staging and shows on TV such as HGTV , and DIY, many are observing the tremendous value that uprading with staging can bring to a property. However, even with all of the websites and TV shows and advice from anyone and everyone, the process of letting go can be the most dificult aspect of selling your home. So, please don't be offended if your Realtor asks.. "Do you really want to sell your home?"
