I'm still beyond disturbed and upset that I waited overnight in freezing temps for someone to come and fix my furnace or to even look at it .... Now I'm being told I only called once. My furnace went out Friday night and I didn't think about the home warranty until Sat but I called as my animals and I were FREEZING on sat and the answering service didn't know the hours of operation (which I JUST learned are SUPPOSED to be 24 hours) and NO ONE FREAKING BOTHERED TO CALL ME AT ALL !! This is a question that is being asked more and more as new installations begin to pop up all over the Southwest United States....including Greater Albuquerque New Mexico. Speaking to many different appraisers on this subject it is clear that their is limited data (still) that can present a fixed value or even a variable value for new or older photo voltaic (PV) systems. The predicament is as one appraiser put it...."there isn't enough comps" to compare against. So as systems become more prevalent....and they will....this problem will solve itself with similiar homes with and without Solar PV systems. In my opinion....I must say I am biased since I recently installed a 5.44KW PV system (see Pic)....there must be value in not paying $100+/mo electric bills over a period of lets say 10 years or more....clearly to the present owner....and just as clear....to a new buyer. I would estimate that value as approximately $12,000....based on Present Value Cash Flow over that period. I welcome your comments. ...read more
