We started training at Acoma this week. We won't be back next week. The Trainers at this facility seem to be very aggressive, impatient and on a power trip. My dog and I successfully flew under the radar on Saturday's class, but witnessed very harsh treatment of other dogs. First of all they never gave proper instruction on how to place the slip chain and if it were by anyone placed backwards it would very easily turn into a "choke chain". There was a poor little terrier in the class who was shaking and TERRIFIED and the trainer knew it and told her "YOUR MY NEXT VICTIM". That being frightened would not be tolerated. I was told that if my dog was frightened next week they would "TAKE HER". Take her how? Into the middle of the room and be jerked around aggressively only to enforce her fear? My dog is very smart and my husband and I have worked very hard at training her. We signed up for this class to learn some new techniques and thought it would be fun for all of us. But I ended up upset the rest of the day and worried about returning next week as I was scared that this would have adverse effects and only reinforce her fears of strangers. I cannot consciously submit my dog to this sort of treatment and we will go to Animal Humane where they teach POSITIVE reinforcement, not fear. ...read more

Bad service, was told more that half our meat was bad and then they turned around and SOLD it to someone else!! This has been a few hunters experience after coming here!!! Ripped off after working so hard to get the Elk! We will NEVER RETURN!!! ...read more

I took my dog in for a check up. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The vets are so good with the animals. I was very pleased at how kind and helpful they are. I will definitely take my other dogs there for any exams or treatments they may need in the future. The clinic is clean and modern and even smells good.
