On 07/01/11 my wife - a stroke victim and my self- an 80year old retired war veteran had $12000. siezed and transferred from our personal joint checking account without our knowledge or consent. Having grown up in a small midwest rural area, I was always under the impression that a personal joint checking account was one of the sacred protected enities of the American Banking system and could only be taken under the rules of due process. This was a rude awakening for us as my wife,s SS disability payments were co mingled with the funds taken and this has caused her a great deal of personaly prief and hardship. An investigation is underway with some type of finding to be completed within the next 30 to 60 days. The point of all this is not to take any of our freedoms for granted because this could happen to any of you just as it has happened to us. May the wind be alwaysat your back.
