Ugh - I just worked a couple of days this week at Xentel DM in Vancouver, BC, and feel like I will need 3 showers a day to get rid of the dirty feeling! To begin with the work environment itself is pretty disgusting and the training is negligent at best...our work stations were a bunch of old cubicals with ratty chairs, computer equipment that looked like it had been thrown away, and phone connectors that didn't even work properly. When your shift begins (according to a clock set 10 minutes fast) you are told to scramble for a station or you may not get a chance to work that day and you have to scrap with others to get a working headset, connector box, and chair. 90% of the staff smell like stale cigarettes and alcohol, and my floor supervisor bragged of 'doing time'. I believe it! Sitting in the same room with these people for 8 hours was nauseating.... then to find out only 15% of the money raised goes to the charity when clearly no money is spent on the office is absurd! ...read more

Shamefully, I worked at Xentel for a year and a half, and I can honestly say that job is the most immoral thing I've ever done in my life. First of all, to comment on the review titled "Xentel Is Great"... this article was clearly written by Judy B or another of the managers at Xentel. You may tell yourself that to make you feel better about the scam your involved in and routinely train others to perform, but the truth is, Xentel is stealing. The employees are so undereducated about the fundraisers that they call for that they often make up lies about the organizations. Yes, information about the programs IS available to the callers, but it is NOT required of them to review it. In fact, newly hired employees are rarely even informed that the information is available.. The managers at Xentel are concerned with one thing: the money that goes into their pockets. I worked at Xentel for a year and a half. I was the one that called you askiing for your credit card by phone. for the first 6 mo even I thought it was legit but then slowly but surely I started recognizing that it was just a huge scam. I would make just as much money then the actual fundraiser did. 5-7 & of what you donate but xentel takes most of it while leaving employees with no heater or ac that place was awful! ...read more
