May Contain: Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163), Ultramarines, Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Orange 5 (CI 45370), Red 33 Lake (CI 17200), Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Red 28 Lake (CI 45410), Red 6 Lake (CI 15850), Red 27 Lake (CI 45410:2), Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Palmitic Acid, Methicone. As you can see, lead is not one of the ingredients ofLipSense. Ingredient lists usually start with the item with the most content. SD Alchohol is the main ingredient inLipSense. Basically, LipSense is pigments suspended in cosmetic grade alcohol. I am also asked why the alcohol doesn’t dry out your lips. Well, we at a top coat to our lip color that contains Shea Butter. Shea Butter is such a wonderful moisturizer and it really tops off theSeneGenceLipSense lip color. One nice benefit of the sd alcohol is that it purifies your lips. I am often asked the same questions aboutLipSensebySeneGence. For example, why do you need to apply 3 coats of LipSense. If you take it at the basest level, one layer is sandwiched between the other two. If you make a good sandwich, you have two pieces of bread. Then you put something in the middle. The first coat of LipSense is the bread. LipSense connects to your skin (lips) like the bread connects to the plate. You need the bottom slice of bread or you don't have a sandwich. Right? The second coat is the cheese. This is for the vegetarians out there. The cheese fits snug on top of the bread as does the second coat ofLipSense. The third coat is the topping – like the mustard. You can’t really have a cheese sandwich without the mustard! So why do you need the gloss? Well that is a good question. The gloss has Shea Butter and it will condition your lips. The gloss is the best part. . It is the bread on top that protects the cheese from the elements. Without the protection, the cheese would get yuckie just soaking in the mustard. So if you think of gloss as being the protection from the elements, it all makes sense. This is pretty silly but I hope it illustrates some of the science behind LipSense bySeneGence. ...read more
