I was excited about the possibility of doing business with a local person and who offered a variety of services. But that is as far as my excitement went. The worker who came to my house was poorly dressed and had rips in his pants that was showing his underwear. Not so much of a problem for me but it is a problem for my 1 year old and my wife. At entrance or exit of my driveway he crushed my landscaping rocks, and after I mentioned this to him in an email he did not offer to fix it. At no time was I notified of a charge until the end when my wife was told there would be one of 99$. The best was the email response I got back when asking for a return of my money. You might think twice about hiring this company especially if youre not home and your wife and son are. Here is the email response: \r\n\r\nWe are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your appointment for service on Saturday of November 30; however, I am sure when you booked the appointment the scheduler did mention that there is a service charge for a chimney inspection. We do not make free service calls nor do we give free estimates. So I am quite sure the price was stated prior to you or your wife booking the appointment; and we always make sure that customers are aware of our policy of only taking checks, cash or money orders. So the subject of payment terms had to be known at that point at the time of booking of the appointment as well.\r\n As far as the unprofessional manner in which the technician’s pants were cut, we can address that issue. I am sure however you have had the plumber or electrician who has had his underwear showing a bit, but this is no reason for a refund to be generated. I have no explanation for the landscaping rocks and this still is not a reason for a refund. I am sure you have had other people accidentally do the same thing. \r\nIf the technician did his job to perform the requested inspection the service that was rendered warrants the payment that was paid. If there is work that has to be performed with regards to your chimney system your $99 payment can be credited towards that work. This policy is held to a 90 day period from the date of the inspection, to utilize the inspection charge for said repairs. \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n Mr. Olsen, I am sorry for the way you feel, but this is the reply to your request and there will be no refund forthcoming.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nRegards,\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nMcPuff Chimney Services, LLC ...read more
