Hello to All:In the height of the tragedy that Ocean City Residents have endured with Hurricane Sandy, I have recently learned that Berger Realty is not helping or assisting in the replacement of willing residents to 'rent' for the winter months. My grandmother, a resident of Ocean City for over 30 years, has a 5 bedroom glorious home on the bay, and was recently affected by the wrath of Sandy. Looking to rent an apt in the town until construction is completed, I was informed that "Our broker does not want us to become involved in transactions arising out of the influx of relief workers and of displaced residents" That is not only disheartens but infuriating. As a long time resident of the area, we have to look at Berger rental offices on every block? They cannot even help out the residents in the area that they so prosperously BENEFIT from financially year after year? Rented property in OCNJ for a week, owner of property keeping security deposit because they said there was a dog on the property and we were spray painting in the garage. Moynihan would not accept receipt showing dogs were in a kennel the entire week near our primary home. Spray painting on vacation, that was a joke too! Stay away from these Pru-Fox offices. They're real dens of thieves. I dealt with two Pru-Fox "Sales Professionals" from the nearby Margate, NJ office-- Mark Arbeit and Lou Solomon-- and regret it to this day. You want to trust Arbeit? Fine. Before you do, though, read in The Washington Post archives for June 20, 25 and 26, 1987 why the State of Virginia won't trust him to be around little schoolboys. Can you believe Pru-Fox turns guys like this loose on unsuspecting members of the public? Solomon? Well, he represents convicted criminals and puts in MLS descriptions for his listings information he later laughingly admits is false. He also lets prospective buyers know his sellers' bottom lines. We called up McCann Realtor and they showed us several beautiful homes in Ocean City. We enjoyed their friendly approach and they didn't try to push real estate down our throats to get the sale.
