Porto Lounge AMP AMP Restaurant
By PaulaR January 22, 2013
Do not patronize this establishment, as they are a bunch of criminals and scam artists. 3 of my friends and I visited Port O Lounge on Friday, January 18, 2013. The waitress Tia (shady looking, overly friendly to the point of being annoying) informed us we had to hand in a credit card if we wanted to 'hold the table', the thought of having to hold a table with a credit card seemed odd to us, but nonetheless I handed in my card. The server assured me it would not be charged. At the end of the night I personally approached the server and asked to pay for my 2 Captain ...read more

TERRIBLE service. Ordered food, they lost the ticket, waited 2 hrs. Called and spoke to General Manager Seth who was rude and hung up on me. Then fought me on the refund but finally agreed and said he would call me back in 10 minutes. Of course he did not. Called Seamless Web and they said the refund was never requested. Luckily Seamless took care of it. It is sad since their food is somewhat decent, at least compared to other places in JC. ...read more

Zeppelin Hall Beer Garden
By HectorPoole at Citysearch November 11, 2011
The beer here is excellent! But the food is overfried and the selection is limited. I love the benches laid out for people, but far too many families hang out there. It's like Jersey City threw up their living rooms so that mom could watch dad as he gets drunk and watches football. I don't want to see any kids or babies in strollers around while I try to enjoy my ale. ...read more

Most expensive lunch special delivery for crappy food. Even the potion is so small as if they were a sophisticated restaurant, I'm still hungry after spending over $10. Cost twice as much as your neighborhood Chinese place for half the potion and gross taste. Oh did I mention one of the 7 orders was incorrect and one side soup was missing? Never again!!! ...read more
Laguna Lounge

this establishment could of been successful if the owner Ivan wasn't always having personal relationships with the female employees. he's a gossiper and doesn't know how to conduct himself as a professional in the bar industry nor as ba gentleman. he is a cheater, thief, & lair & has a ping pong relationship with his baby mama for years - So beware of the snakes in this establishment. ALL EYES ARE ON YOU, BECAUSE THEY DON'T MIND THEIR BUSINESS... ...read more

Went there for dinner last night during Hudson Restaurant Week. The service was bad. They were under staffed. The host/manager was taking orders and passing it to the server. He didn't even offer the restaurant week menu. I had to ask for it. Not okay! My dinner partner ordered a mango mojito - they didn't have it. I got the wrong soup. Overall, not worth it. ...read more

Lighthorse Tavern

I am really surprised to read all of the negative reviews about Light Horse, as I have never had anything less than a pleasant experience when dining here.\t\n\t\nI have found the waitstaff to be very helpful and friendly (my husband and I are vegan and they are always willing to cater to us), the food excellent (my entire non-vegan family agrees!), and the atmosphere to be warm and inviting. Both times that I have eaten here it has been with a large group at dinner time. Everyone loved their meal, and the waiters handled my large family well (a baby included). The atmosphere is so cozy that I think we always stick around a little longer than necessary!\t\n ...read more
Lighthorse Tavern
By NathanJCohen at Citysearch January 01, 2009
I used to love the Lighthorse, but I have to agree with the other reviewers that the food has drastically decreased in quality. Concomitant to this problem, the prices remain the same. Thus the overall experience is sour. I went in October of 2008 and was served a steak so coated in thick cheese that the meat was completely lost. Today, I attempted to try the menu again but it took nearly 1:30 for the food to be served. When it arrived, everything was cold (who wants cold egg dishes). There was no explanation other than being under staffed. I have an immense problem with that logic though, because when a top notch restaurant is understaffed, they normally reduced the seating. This may mean turning people away or having a long wait, but it does enhance the quality of those that do eat. Instead, they packed it full. All of the features that used to define the lighthorse (innovating cuisine, friendly service, etc..) have disappeared. This restaurant has sadly run its course. It subsists now on locals who cannot get over how far its fallen, and those who remember a good experience from a couple years back. So sad. ...read more
