Client came into my Jersey City office last week with papers from her ex that pays child support seeking a modification of his child support obligation because he has another child that he takes care of. This is known as the other dependent deduction and certain criteria must be met to be able to make this claim. Having another child alone is not enough to reduce your child support obligations.
