My husband and I just went to Renee for couples counseling. My husband had one session and then we went back together. In my first session and my husband's second session she focused on questions that would bring up very negative feelings, such as "What bothers you about him?". Obviously this would cause issues where my husband and I were not "happy" in this session. My husband and I didn't agree in the session, but we did allow each other to speak freely. I know people who have been to couples counseling and the first meetings should be more about asking about positive thoughts, "What do you like about your relationship", "What do you want in a relationship", etc. Within 40 minutes she stopped the meeting and said we are "not fixable!". An exact qoute! Before she said we were "not fixable", I did tell her that I though my husband is clinically depressed. She didn't even ask if he was suicidal and therefore very negligent.
