I have a rectangular Dish with apples, pears and grapes in a basket painted on the inside bottom of the dish. The outside of the dish is painted in a basket weave. The bottom of the dish says microwave and dishwasher safe, Alco Industries made in china. I bought it used and am not sure if it is oven safe and to what temperature if it is oven safe. Can you please provide that information to me before I use it? Also does it contain lead? ...read more

I am curious to the makers of the beautiful ceramic tableware I got for free at the local 99 cent store here in Journal Square, NJ. It is not their store policy to give away anything for free, none the less these painted, speckeled with flowers of differnt colors (blue, green, red and yellow) interesting pieces of pottery. The art work looks handpainted, and the glaze is amazing. It puzzles me as to why a business would give away these items for free. We received your dinnerware as a gift but your product doesn't say if it is diswasher safe. All it says is "Alco Industries, Edison,NJ, Made in China". For instance, it is white with two red apples painted on the cup, with green speckles on top of the cup and handle. We don't want to ruin the pattern or damage the dishes, cups, bowls, etc. We just love them but need an answer. Please email me simply whether or not we can use the dishwasher on these items.
