As the owner and operator of Top Notch Tree Care, Matthew Notch, I take great pride in my work practices. I am a "Certified Arborist" with the ISA. I have one crew, all who have been with me for years, and also take pride in their work. Regarding the bad review that I know who posted. This was totally uncalled for and upsetting. The job in question was not left unfinished based on the original estimate given to this client. In fact, we did additional hazard pruning (removal of large dead limbs throughout canopies of 3 large trees) that was not even part of the original estimate. Yes, I did mention additional canopy thinning on 2 large maples & an oak tree should be done in the Fall/Winter, and that work would take an additional half day. We always try to leave the job site cleaner then we found it. We cleaned up everything very well at this job, with the exception of some dry oak limbs we cut up for firewood and left neatly piled along the end of the wood line for the client. it would have been quicker just to chip these limbs. Oh well for trying to do extra and help out! The limbs in question that this client referred to as not being cut, as stated on original estimate, were trimmed appropriately. I explained this to the homeowner for 10 minutes on the phone. I personally was on the job site for the entirely of this job, and know that everything purposed on the estimate was completed and more. The job site was left clean! This client called back again, after an initial 10 minute conversation, and I took the call even though I was with an elderly client. I told them again briefly what I already explained but couldn't talk because I was with someone. I also said feel free to call back again if we need to discuss further. BTW, we did a walk through with the husband before the job was started and did everything and more then discussed. The wife was not happy, but at no time did I or any of my workers have a conversation with her. I really feel that this was poor communication and a lack of understanding in the arboriculture field. Guess you can't please everyone. "We do what we say we'll do plus more if necessary, and I never add more to the original estimate unless discussed prior with client". ...read more
