About Allamuchy, NJ
Allamuchy is the principal town in Allamuchy Township, Warren County, New Jersey. The region's earliest surveys mention an Indian settlement called Allamuchahokkingen, or Allamucha, from which Allamuchy takes its name. Originally settled by Quakers, Allamuchy by 1834 was able to boast a grain distillery, grist and saw mills, one store, one tavern, and twelve dwelling places. In today's more modern times, Panther Valley Tech Support and Panther Valley Recreation Center are two of Allamuchy's important businesses. The education of Allamuchy's younger residents falls under the jurisdiction of the Allamuchy Township School District, and aviation enthusiasts may be interested to know that Allamuchy is also home to the Allamuchy Rotary Flight School. Although a large portion of Allamuchy's 21 square miles is covered by farms and forests, the Panther Valley community is one substantial residential development composed of 1,200 single-family homes, townhouses and condominiums. In addition, The Inn at Panther Valley has received excellent on-line reviews.
