My husband and I drove from Chicago to spend the weekend in Omaha, and decided to see a play. It was SNAP's production of The Laramie Project. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision, and the show was sold out, but two people didn't show, and we got front row seats. I have seen theatre on Broadway and at Steppenwolf and the Goodman, and this was one of the three or four best productions I've ever seen. The performances were shattering. The conviction for community theatre was unbelievable. We were speechless when it was over. The theatre director was so excited that we came from so far and he was able to get us in, that he hugged us after the show. Such warm, decent, and amazingly talented people. ...read more

School of Stars offers Acting Classes and Birthday Parties for Kids!

School of Stars Inc., located in Westwood Plaza at 120th and Center, has been open for two years under the ownership of Natalie Tiehen.  School of Stars Inc. offers acting classes for students ages 3-18.  Classes are a semester long (generally 14-16 weeks) and cover a variety of topics from High School Musical and Star Wars to Putting on a Play.  At the end of the semester, students put on a recital where they get to perform a song, dance, scene or even a play!  School of Stars Inc.also offers birthday parties for children!  We have a variety of different themes and we do all the work, from getting cupcakes and juice to providing entertainment!  These 90 minute interactive parties are very fun for the little actor or actress in your life!  School of Stars Inc. is also involved in the community, thru providing workshops for local schools in the metro area and by doing artist in residencies with local schools.  They've also worked with national organizations, such as Girl Scouts and Girls Inc.  All of our programming and parties is very affordable and we accept cash,check, credit card (thru Paypal) and Monthly Payment Plans.For more information, please go to our website atwww.schoolofstars.com.  You may also contact us at (402) 330-1020 orschool_of_stars@hotmail..com ...read more
