I ended up having to go to Red Wing because no other store carried women's steel toe (insulated, waterproof) in my size. At first, I balked at the $180 price tag, but the salesman offered me a discount. I thought these were just another workboot that I'd hate to wear. I was wrong. These are the most comfortable shoes or boots I've every worn. They are about as comfortable as slippers, but are engineered to support your entire spine as you walk. I'm not sure how they do it, but they support your hips, also. They exercise the muscles in your legs so that you don't even realize it. At the end of a 12 or 14-hour workday, they make you feel like you haven't been working at all. For the orthopaedic benefits alone, these boots are the best use of my money. Brought my Prada dress shoes in for a wax and to get the soul of one of my shoes repaired last Wednesday. I was told by a kid who didn't look like he knew what was going on that it would not be a problem and they would be ready next Monday. I show up today (Monday) after 5:00PM as instructed, and not only are my shoes not waxed, but the kid tells me that they can't fix the damage to my shoe and they would have to re-soul the shoe and he said they SHOULD have called me to see what I wanted to do. "Should have called me." Yeah, you probably should have. The kid offered to wax my shoes and told me they could still repair the shoe, but unfortunately I don't have an unlimited amount of time to be spent on more incompetence, not to mention I needed them today because tomorrow I leave for a wedding in Miami.
