Hello, I am an Early Childhood Educator ( professor,coach,presenter,trainer, administrator and advocate) who has been in the field for many years. My primary work has been in Illinois. I also have a home in Stokes County and have found myself in NC a great deal in the past year to be able to support my mother, 94 years old, who lives in the retirement community Salemtowne in Winston Salem. As North Carolina has become my primary home I have sought opportunities to be involved in NC ECE. I am professional development participant in the exciting the state wide Cultural Competence Breakout Series Collaboration initiative, I will be a keynote speaker at the UNC Charlotte-The Child and Family Development Program Spring Conference and have been fortunate enough to be hired by our professional organization, National Association for the Education of Young Children, to document a model ECE program in Durham. So I am learning about ECE in NC and would like to be more involved. I heard there is a new ECE initiative that is connected to you at Forsyth ECE Partnership. A friend told me that your organization might be a place to start to peruse information and potential involvement in this ECE initiative. I would appreciate any information and of course I can share my resume that reflects my experience and commitment to this most important field. The Special Children's School sent my non-verbal Autistic son home with a horrible bruise on his inner thigh then denied they had anything to do with it. I would not recommend this school. ...read more
