sent out to fix my Rheem unit by american home shield. went 25 days in december without heat because of the inexperienced/unknowledgeable technicians that serviced unit. put on wrong part and then had to come back twice to get unit actually running. customer service desk at office actually started avoiding my calls instead of just being honest and saying they couldn't fix unit. i would give 0 stars if i could. ...read more

My system is 12 years old and was running fine until they performed preventive maintenance on my system. They tried to up sale me on products that I didn't need. They replaced a coil on my fan motor even though it was running fine. Some time between 24 and 72 hours later my fan motor seized up. I thought for sure they would take care of it since they just preform pm and replace a part on the fan motor, but the customer service rep told me it was an old dirty motor and that it just happen to quit working so shortly after they worked on it. I couldn't believe it. They didn't even try to discount replacing the motor. They did cancel all future preventive maintenance contracts that I already paid for and subtracted that from the total for replacing a new fan motor. The customer service rep even went as far as to tell me he didn't want me as a customer anymore. I don't believe the technician purposely damage my motor, but it happened immediately after I paid over $500 dollars for them to perform preventative maintenance on my system. I wish I never called them. I'm out $900 and ended paying for a fan motor I didn't need. The technicians were nice, but their customer service rep was a complete jerk. I'm looking elsewhere to purchase a new system in the near future and I suggest anyone reading this do the same. ...read more
