First of all, whoever wrote this nonsense about rude people working at Sephora is horrible. The staff is amazing! A very popular store like that gets very crowded and the staff tries so hard to please everyone. They have various amounts of different brands and they give you samples nonstop. I spend a lot of money at that store and I'm there practically every week. They have fragrances from wall to wall and have lots of skincare and makeup products to choose from. The staff give me so many different samples to try. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS STORE!!!! ...read more

Please...if you go to Sephora, NEVER speak with anyone but Pat. Don't even call if you aren't sure she is there. The rest of the employees are terrible. I went in looking for help with oily skin, and was ignored for probably 15 minutes. I finally approached a male with dark hair, who was working in the store. He seemed irritated and bothered by the fact that he had been approached. I explained my issue. Before showing me any product, he asked what cosmetics I currently use. Some are cheap, some are expensive. When he heard the list, he literally walked away from me without saying anything. Pat finally found me wandering around in the back of the store, and helped me immensely. She listened, then described several products which she thought would be of use. She gave me samples to try, and told me to call or come in should I need further assistance. She is a retired aesthetician, by the way, and really knows her stuff. Today I decided to check in to see when Pat would be available for further consultation, as I have decided which products (from the samples) to purchase. The person answering the phone was VERY unprofessional, did not want to tell me when Pat was working, asked me what I wanted with her, would not give her own name...the entire staff, in my experience, save for Pat, is just HORRIBLE. There are tons of people who would make up for what I would spend in that store, and assuredly would spend more money in there than I could, but if you value your dollar AT ALL, please see Pat for any future needs at Sephora. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH ANYONE ELSE. ...read more

A Natural Nail

1.0

By review411 at Citysearch

I stopped in at A Natural Nail because it was a convenient location. My first mistake was not asking the price of my acrylic nails, I assumed it would be around 30 to 40 dollars (40 MAX). I had called ahead and made an appointment, but when I arrived I was seated and "walk-ins" who knew the manager were all taken first. After about 25 minutes finally a young girl took me at her booth. She was NOT friendly until the manager mentioned a "tip" and talked on her cell phone most of the time. When I left I was floored at the price, $52 dollars for ONLY one set of acrylics, and my 3 of my fingers were bleeding. The next day my nails were already lifting (Anyone can easily tell because I had French tip) and the brush she used to put the gel on had left behind black hairs inside my nails. It is now 5 days later and one nail has completely come off, and 3 more are on their way. I have had nails numerous times before and do not agree with the excuse they give me for not fixing them "you must have bad nail beds that won?t take". I was unhappy with the painful experience, as well as the steep price. I will now have to go to another nail salon, and pay more just to have them fixed. If you?re looking for a nail place, I would strongly advise you to look else ware. This facility is pretty from the outside looking in, but you can never judge a book by its cover.... or a nail salon. ...read more

I visited the Brier creek location and loved it!! Carrie is the best waxer I've ever had. She was very thorough, and quick. She didn't even have to go back and tweeze anything. Carrie was sweet and made me comfortable. The facility was clean and very upscale, but prices are comparable to what You would find elsewhere. I highly recommend skin sense and Carrie!! ...read more

Excel Nails

I'm a girl with a tight budget, but I believe that quality service should still be attainable for those with meager wallets. Circumstances led me to do some comparative shopping, and I've been to quite a few diferent nail spas, all of which have fallen short in some instance. Either they were more expensive, more slack, unfriendly, or just didn't give enough back for your buck. I really love Excel. It's about half way between where I live an where I work. It's convenient enough to both Cary and Raleigh residents. It's tucked away in a strip mall and from the outside it probably wouldn't draw in too many onlookers. This is unfortunate, because not only do they provide all the same services you'd get at other salons, but the prices are more reasonable (especially if you're combining treatments,) the staff are very courteous and thorough (shiatsu comes with manicures and pedicures,) they get you in and out in a timely (not rushed) manner, and it's a comfortable setting - well kept. I can only afford to go once or twice a month, but the girls always remember me and I'm treated very well here. The wait on a walk-in is never too bad, but you can make appointments for any time between 9 and 7. The manager or owner is a little odd...an older gentleman that seems just to be supervising everyone, but my experience is always pleasant. Highly recommended. ...read more

I'm super picky about how I like things done and how friendly people are, I've been to a number of spas in the raleigh and Skin Sense (North Raleigh) is simply the best. I've been going there for almost a year and every time I walk in all my stress drips away quickly. The entire staff is friendly and picks up on each individual's personality very well. I could just go hang out there! haha. Ever treatment or session is simply perfection. \t\n\t\nwhen large groups come in they do get a little behind, but the lougne area is so relaxing you hardly notice! ...read more

Magic Corner

Wow!! How lucky are we to have an old time magic shop right here in Raleigh. Here you will find all kinds of neat stuff, magic, pranks, costumes, juggling, make up and more. The reason the Magic Corner is so great is that you will find stuff here that can't be found anywhere else in town. If you or someone you know likes Criss Angel or David Blaine you have to come check out their secrets. The owner, John, is very knowledgable about magic and costumes/makeup. It can be a little crowded at times , because he is the only one working, but it is worth the time to wait for him to help you. ...read more

I can't go in this place unless I have some $ to spend! It's like being in a candy shop. The sales staff always has the best suggestions and the amount of products they carry is amazing. I had been going to the North Raleigh location for years and was very happy with the service, product, etc. I recently started using the Brier Creek location and was not as happy. While the actual services and location are great, the front desk staff is a downside. My experience was not "service with a smile". This is disappointing considering the beautiful building they are in.\t\nMy advice is to stick with the North Raleigh location if you want the "total" rejuvenating experience. ...read more
