Fred's Beds

By Linda Lyttle at Citysearch

Our experience with Fred's Beds has been wonderful. We recently purchased a Latex Bliss Plush Bed from them and absolutely love it. Mike is extremely knowledgeable. He is very patient to answer every question you might have. He is curtious and NOT A PUSHY SALESMAN! He does not rush you into a decision you might regreat, but tells you your options, allowing you to make up your own mind. He was also very helpful to tell us that when trying out a new bed, don't just lay on your back, but lay on your sides also. ...read more

Sunday Morning with a Back Ache - Part 1

Good morning everyone! And a cold one it is, at least relatively speaking here in Raleigh NC. We aren't used to these frigid temps for such long periods of time. I'm thankful that I don't live in a place where 17 degrees is comfortable! Anyway, being so cold and a weekend, my husband and I were looking forward to sleeping in this morning. It always seems though, on the weekends, I tend up wake up without an alarm (whereas during the week I can't seem to roll out of my comfy bed without hitting the snooze many times). So there I was, lying awake at 7:00 this morning with for some unknown reason, a touch of an achy back. I tossed and turned and finally decided to get up and deal with it. So, I walked around, stretched out and headed to the kitchen to start my day with a nice cup of hot coffee. After a while, my back was still bothering me a little bit so I decided to take further action. I went to my Nikken supply closet and grabbed my "Kenko Flex" ("back magnet" or "back flex"), tucked it in my waste band and within minutes, R-E-L-I-E-F. My back flex has come in handy many times over the past year. Several years ago when I spent three or four weeks doing aggressive manual labor remodeling a building with friends, my back got mad at me and decided to express it with severe spasms. In tears and hardly able to walk without my knees buckling out from under me, I hobbled into the doctor's office where they couldn't do anything but prescribe muscle relaxers and tell me to lay on the sofa and rest for a few weeks. Ugh - who has time for that? ...continued in part 2... ...read more
