We got married at Crenshaw in the fall of 2013 and our wedding was absolutely gorgeous. Our guests loved the beauty of the venue, and our vendors (catering, cake, officiant, photography, and floral) did an amazing job. However, I would NOT recommend Crenshaw Hall for anyone planning a wedding or special event. \r\n\r\nI had a very stressful experience with the owners at the venue, and the entire time I felt as if I couldn't trust what they were saying. I spoke to another Bride who had gotten married there more than a year prior to me and she had a very similar experience. One of the truly factual things that I can say is that they enforced a "rule" that the photographer has to leave the Bride's room 30 minutes prior to the ceremony. Well, that isn't in the contract-- and because of that, we missed out on some special photos-- like me putting on the veil, and my dad coming up to get me. Something I feel that I just can't forgive. \r\n\r\nBy the end of it, I just wanted the wedding to be over so I would never have to deal with the owners again, and yet they still left a personal artifact up in the main area of the house that is in the background of some of our guest's photos. ::sigh:: (I guess I will need to get better at photoshopping out the owners' private photo.) I am just trying to preserve that happiness of the day and forget the entire experience of getting to that day.\r\n\r\nI could continue and list all the reasons that I wouldn't recommend this venue, but suffice it to say that while our wedding was absolutely beautiful, I'm 100% sure it would've been just as beautiful at another, similar venue-- and without the stress dealt out by the owners at Crenshaw Hall. ...read more
