There is a wonderful program that I would love to share. It is called eMath360. The creator's name is Jawahar Lal. My older son, who is 9, has been able to try the program. I fully support the format and platform that is being used. Unlike many online math learning programs with eMath360 your child has a real life teacher. Your child is not left on their own to choose what they want to do, and then not work on what challenges them. There is also not a gas expense to travel to a learning center. Your child is able to actually form a student-teacher relationship with their eMath360 teacher in order to feel more comfortable and really engage in their assignments. All of the teachers have degrees, and are very proficient in mathematics.  The teachers are very good about staying in contact with the parents through email. My son's teacher communicates with me weekly.  What takes place is you will choose a time typically twice a week for your child to meet with his or her teacher online. Your child chooses a username, probably his own name. He will sign onto Eluminate, the online interactive platform being used. He will use a headset with a microphone to communicate with the teacher. There is not video contact for safety issues. Your child will also use a digital note pad with a wireless stylus pen to interact with the teacher and do math on real time. The sessions are voice recorded and then sent to the email of the parent. That has proven to be extremely helpful. As a homeschool mom I take advantage of any time that I have. I am usually working with my younger son while the older one is in his session. I do check on my son, and I do advise that you sit through atleast the first session with your child you just check it out. It will help you get a better idea of the program. After that first session though chances are like me you will have other things that you need to be doing during that time. I love the ability to sit and listen to the recording as well as see the work that was being done on the screen. So you can actually see the answers that your child was putting on the monitor.  You can of course watch those at your leisure. Your child's teacher emails you tailored assignments to exactly what your child is working on at the time. You as the parent are encouraged to give feedback on the assignments. The teachers work closely with you to make sure your child is experiencing the best possible learning available.  Parent-teacher telephone conferences are also looked upon highly favorably by eMath360. From first-hand experience I can tell you that this company, while it is a business, money is not the primary concern. Jawahar created this program to increase a student's ability to learn mathematics well. His vison is to use technology to help children really succeed.  He has a heart for homeschoolers, as well as traditionally schooled students. The program can be used by both.  There are even Saturday sessions. Right now the normally priced assessment fee of $85 is completely waived. There is a free lesson, and then after that the first month is 50% off.
