Advance Digital Textiles is the "best" of the best of all digital printing providers on fabric surfaces. I have used them for many projects in the past couple of years. They have a great group of people, with a wide variety of skills sets from artwork and screen engraving, and color matching backgrounds. They really know their industry very well and are always striving to make sure the customer gets their projects completed in a timely manner. ...read more

I am a fibers artist and I hand dye silk to make one-of-a-kind prints. I was doing all the work myself but with "Advanced Digital Textiles", located in NC, I have now been able to mass produce my prints BEAUTIFULLY! They have gone above and beyond to satisfy my needs and have made it as simple and easy for me to do so. They quality of printing is immaculate. They get my exact colors and the quality is outstanding. I could not be happier with this company's work. ...read more

Current Landscape Design Project.

This current landscape design and build project in Wahaw, NC has many different features associated with the design. Some of the items we'll be installing will include: Outdoor fireplace. Large paver patio and walkway. Stone steps and landing to rear door. Low voltage landscape lighting. Raised stone planters in front yard. Drainage system. Tree, shrub&perennial; planting. Basic electrical work to provide power for new hot tub and a couple of outlets.   We broke ground on Tuesday, 3/16/10 and really had some nice days to work. It's so much easier when your not dealing with the rain! The base construction HAS to be perfect in order to keep things running smoothly and give me peace of mind at night. I can't stand to see hardscapes that have no sense of structural integrity.    All of our hardscapes carry a standard 5 year warranty and that could very well change to an 8 or 9 year warranty in the near future. WHY?  Because I take the time to design our base construction with longevity in mind. I may be a little more expensive but you WILL get the results that you're looking for, especially in the long run. No walls that begin to lean, no drainage problems, no sinking patios. We build it right the first time and we build it to last. Isn't it time you actually received value for your hard earned money? Friday, 3/26/10: The stone work for the current outdoor living area started on Tuesday and is about finished. By next week, we will be installing the pavers, remaining drainage system, landscape lighting and a few more colummns. Here's what the fireplace looks like so far: Yes, it's still a mess but that's to be expected with a project this size. It will all come together very quickly now. ...read more

Pillow Talk

There is almost nothing more to love than the detailing of a beautiful pillow, and yet, it can be one of the most neglected accents in a room.  In some instances, after the larger pieces have been placed in a space, there is a tendency to take a - "Wait and see if it's really necessary" - approach.  (Translated . . . maybe the room can "get by" without this added investment.)  In other cases, they may be seen as unneeded "fluff" because of being way overdone in the bygone days of over-the-top, unedited design.  In the simplest of ensembles, this striped pillow, with trim, commands your attention. A really well-executed pillow is like a work of art.  This dressmaker detailed accent can take a basic sofa or bedding ensemble to a level, several notches above.  Pillows are one of the easiest ways to update and compliment a new color palette.  The ranges of investment often depends on the amount of the detail, the fabric, trims and the insert materials.  There are some ready-to-go designs with a good look for a good price.  Truly custom pillows can be in the range of a small, accent piece of furniture or a nice lamp.  Because a pillow can be held and examined closely, I tend to prefer the best quality one can afford.  Hand-sewn closures and plump filler materials always are the best, in my book.  Natural fibers give the nicest tactile experience.  Visually, if you consider some of your favorite bedroom photos, most of the bed dressings would seem pretty blasé without the extra pillow layer. Can we talk pillows?  I'd rather show you! From Barclay Butera's Hearst Castle Collection*  Hand-painted designs = custom art for a custom pillow.A hand appliquéd design on a solid linen. Design Flashback!

I had a whirlwind trip to the High Point Market. With shopping lists in tow, I had my focus on certain things; however, I did get a chance to pop by some showrooms in order to check out some trends and color palettes.  This go round, I'll let the pictures do the talking and I'll pop back in with more in-depth articles, later.  What's new, again?  I'll give you a hint . . . if you watched "American Idol", this past week, the music was all about the "Rat Pack" and the genre of the late 50's and early 60's.
