This cuts down on mis-communication and unecessary marks in the area. 811 responders will only locate utility main lines and services maintained by their company. Quite often there are "Private Utilities" on properties which may carry electricity, water, gas, etc. These extensions are not owned by the utility companies and they do not have a responsibility to locate these lines.
