After searching around Jacksonville for a landscaping company and interviewing a few to install sod in my backyard, I came across Southwest Landscaping. I contacted Brad, the owner to come out and give an estimate. He was at my house the next morning, very knowledgable about the preparation, different types of grasses, maintance and the installation process. Why we made the decision to go with Southwest over the other companies, is that Southwest wasn't going to take down part of our fence to install sod or charge us an insane amount to till the yard when neither was necessary. Brad said our walk through gates were just fine and they could complete the job without taking any part of our fence down or making us install a drive through gate. After giving the go ahead, he and his crew were here that following evening prepping our yard and back the next morning installing sod. His crew completed our yard in a day and were very professional. We are very pleased with the completed work and would hire Southwest Landscaping again if we ever needed any work done and have already recommend the company to all my neighbors and friends. ...read more

I called High Point Furniture, Lejeune Blvd., this morning at 10:10 to tell them the curio I picked up the day before was defective. They never told me I was getting the floor model, of which I only saw the front of it, yet someone obviously wrapped it in plastic without letting me look it over first. The one defect would have been obvious right away, but the other only when I put the light inside the cabinet on. Well it is 12:30 and I have called the salesman who said he had to fax the receipt to the " boss". He said I signed the receipt for no returns. He gave me it to sign, and then told me I signed up there when I should have signed down there that I was taking it with me. I have never dealt with a furniture store that didn't allow returns and a full refund within a period of time.If I ever hear from them I'll let you know. ...read more
