Glidden Professional Paint Center

1.0

By Terrell Sharpe

Customer service is the worst. John (store manager) recommended us to use UGL epoxy floor paint and it is an emabarrasment to our company. The DeVoe epoxy is what we asked for as it lasted 10 years but they insisted we use UGL. The UGL sealer has left tire marks on our showroom floor and it lasted less than 30 days. When I contacted John he showed no concerns and would not even come look at how bad our floor looks. Glidden does not staff employees that know what the products they sell will do and will not stand behind their products. As for UGL it cares nothing about the people that purchase their products and will not even return calls left in customer service. I wasted $3500.00 by choosing Glidden and UGL and hope this saves people from making the same as we did. ...read more

Plants that deter deer

Tired of using human hair and urine to deter the deer munching on your landscape plants and garden?  Try using plants that repel deer - not only will they not eat these plants, but deer will avoid many of these plants and the garden beyond these deer deterrent plants. Dusty Miller(Senecio cineraria): a perennial with silver/gray foliage that looks lovely with annuals and can be planted directly in your garden Foxglove(Digitalis): a bi-annual that produces a long spike of blooms.  Adds color and height to perennial beds and makes a nice border. (Digitalis is poisonous, so please be careful in your use of this plant) Yarrow(Achillea): Plant this perennial with your landscape shrubs or near your garden to attract beneficail insects as well as deter the deer. Columbine(Aquilegia): This perennial is tolerant to most soil conditions and prefers shade, so use it under trees or in the shady "deer entrances" of your landscaping. Tickseed(Coreopsis): This perennial offers bright yellow blooms from Spring until after frost and can be planted directly in your garden, used as a border plant or mass planting in your landscaping.  So many different varieties offer height, color and texture contrasts to your landscaping and garden. Sage(Salvia sp.): Speaking of variety...there are numerous options when it comes to using sage in the landscape and garden.  Culinary sage can be planted directly in the landscape, Russian Sage is a large growing perennial shrub that will deter deer very well in your landscape.  Plant Annual Salvia in your annual bed for color and contrast.  Be sure to plant sage in a well drained, sunny location. Lavendermakes a beautiful and aromatic border at an entrance to the garden, landscape or front door.  Lavender also likes well drained soil and a sunny spot. Thyme(Thymus): planted directly in the garden or in the rock pathway, thyme may be used to prevent muddy pathways and deter deer. Try some of these wonderful landscape and garden plants not just to deter deer, but also to use in cooking, for cut flowers and aromatherapy.  All of these plants are available now in the nursery at Shepherd's Landscape Supply in Huntersville, NC.Betty HoustonShepherd's Landscape Supply ...read more
