I was a patient of Piedmont Gyn Ob Ballantyne for 4+ yrs. When I became pregnant, the only info I received from anyone in the practice were a few photocopies from 1 of the midwives w/ some general info & a long article about using a midwife for delivery. Since it was my 1st pregnancy, I did a lot of research on my own & asked the practitioners about some of my findings, eg: what type of food should I eat / avoid? They would not answer any of my questions, as if they were afraid of the liability. It turned out that I had a fetal anomaly. Michelle was wonderful and helped me the best she could. The Women's Institute geneticist faxed the results & called the practice multiple times. I also called them several times for advice or referrals for next steps. They NEVER called the geneticist back, nor did they ever return my calls. Word to the wise: call for your balance, because with multiple bills coming, they do overlap each other and do not account for what you've paid. All they want to do is make sure you stay pregnant to get your money. They tell you that they'll provide you with birth control pills, and then when you call about your pills they give you the run around. Such a disgrace, and they wonder why people do the things they do. They get zero stars from me!!! It's not like they're paying for them. All they're doing is calling in the prescription. The workout at ATC is a good one, but the owner, Cyrus, gives his own company a bad name. I stuck with working out at ATC because I did enjoy the workouts, but it got to the point where Cyrus was constantly late to classes and many times did not even show up to the 6am sessions. I found this very rude and disrespectful, especially since he did not even apologize.I was also concerned with his knowledge on the amount of weight people should be lifting. I feel that it is good to have someone to push you to workout harder, but he bordered on being dangerous. I started going to Dr. Schneider last year, at the recommendation of a friend. I normally avoid male doctors for this area of my body, but I was extremely pleased with the way he practices. It's not often that you come across a Dr. who is friendly and thorough, but Dr. Schneider is BOTH! I had an abnormal lab value that concerned him, so instead of having his office staff call me, he called himself, I think that says A LOT. I work in the medical field, and although I never worked directly with Dr. Schneider, he is the type of Dr. I would love to work with. I have been a patient of Scott Schneider for 12 years. He is outstanding. I have never had an OB-GYN who listens so well or remembers so much about me as a person and a patient. His practice is to talk to you...and really listen...before the exam, when you are still dressed and thus more relaxed. He is progressive in his practice, up to date in his knowledge and skills and focuses on the health of the whole woman...not just her reproductive organs. I always recommend him. the doctor is ok. The policies and office staff are not. I saw a no children allowed sign in the examination room. So when I brought my toddler in today with a 17yr old to watch her in waiting room, I was put off that they couldnt not wait for me, while I was being seen. The office manager Tomiko and nurse Tam told me they could wait outside (IT's RAINING!). You are never seen on time (as to be expected sometimes but all the time..a 30-45min wait beyond your appointment). After leaving I called back to leave a msg for the doctor to call me... I was denied. The nurse told me I didn't have a med question. It's not their policy for doctors to return a phone call. The doctors have to initiate contact and call you. I said how do you know what I want to ask. She replied you just want to talk about this morning... Now I'm denied access to the Dr. because of a gatekeeper. ...read more

Staff with the exception of one nurse by the name Gail is rude. Dr. Stephens talk really loud so whatever she is discussing with her patient is no longer confidential. Dr. Stephens lacks empathy and treat you as if you are just a patient she will receive income for. I have never felt so disturbed by a medical professional until I visit this Dr. Office. I understand that she is not a therapist and/or a counselor, but I am sure being empathetic was emphasized when she was pursuing her medical career. She is very cut and dry.
