Had a blast!! The 5k was a little challenging in the hills, but the people along the way cheering you on makes it sooo much fun! And snow at the finish line - very cool! Good for both adults and kids with the Egg Nog Jog kid's race. The new 10k course looks like a really nice addition - but we will see if I'm up for that this year or stick with the 5k. There were people in costumes and others just running for their best time (many still wearing antlers) - yep - this is our kind of a race! ...read more

Aberdeen - Here we come!
What an exciting time for the Reindeer Fun Run!As many of you know, we were not able to keep our date/time/location in Southern Pines for the 5th Annual Reindeer Fun Run. But we couldn’t be happier with where the 2011 event will be. Here are just a few of the things we are really excited about... RouteBoth the 5k & 10k are fantastic with rolling hills and beautiful views. Our favorite is the long downhill finish into downtown Aberdeen. SafetyThe Aberdeen Police and Fire Departments have volunteered to station themselves at nearly every single street crossing. We’re hoping we can get them all to wear antlers! Town ParticipationThe Town of Aberdeen is a full sponsorand actively participating in all aspects of the event, from parking and packet pick-up, to the After Party. Tailgating/Sponsor TentsWe’re working on it! After PartyWith the ability to have streets closed, the Kids Zone can be even bigger. And for the grown-ups, look forward to a new Adult Zone too! WeatherIf it is cold outside before or after the race, look for the Aberdeen Merchants Guild hospitality tents to help keep you warm. SurprisesWe have a couple cooked up all ready!
