About Jackson, MT
Jackson, a small town in the southwestern region of the state of Montana, was named after Anton Jackson, who was the first postmaster in 1896. The area of Jackson is well known for its winter sports recreational opportunities and because of the surrounding mountains, offers fantastic slopes for skiers and snowboarders alike. Jackson is an unincorporated community in Beaverhead County and lies on Montana Seconday Highway 278 south of Wisdom and northwest of Dillon. One of the best places to get a bite to eat is Rose’s Cantina. Two of the businesses that are located in Jackson are Big Hole Valley Taxidermy and Jackson Mercantile.
