CPR Cell Phone Repair Billings 24th St

By NancyCunningham

These guys did a great job fixing my broken cell phone! My iPhone screen was cracked, and they repaired it real fast. They even delivered it back to me the same day at my house, so I was impressed by that. I checked around several places in the Billings, MT area and they quoted me the lowest price. When I went in they were working on a guy's iPad and I just got the feeling they were very friendly and overall I will definitely go back. Well hopefully not, since that would mean I've broken something else lol but you know what I mean! ...read more

Computer Repairs

Why is My Computer So Slow? We all love our computers. We use them to compose letters, write articles, surf the web, play games, and watch movies. It is hard to imagine life without electronic gadgets in some way or another. And despite what people may say, there is nothing wrong with relying on technology as much as we do. But it can become frustrating, sometimes infuriating when our technology does not work the way we want it to, or worse when it does not work the way it is supposed to. Instead of throwing your computer out the window, as much fun as that may seem, follow these tips to see if you can remedy the problem yourself. If not, iDoctor is your computer repair specialists in Billings, Montana. We can fix Macs, PC’s, phones, tablets, game consoles and more.   Update Your Windows Windows Update Restart You probably see that little popup every now and then that says you need to run a Windows update. Most people are guilty of being reminded in 4 hours, and then postponing indefinitely. If you are in the middle of something, you can postpone, but these are important updates to optimize your machine (and block malware), so run it as soon as possible.       Delete Some Programs and Files Empty this regularly We all download and install programs, and once the novelty is over, we just leave them. If you haven’t used a program in a long time, and you likely won’t in the foreseeable future, delete it off your computer. You will free up some space and help your computer run faster. Not only that, but some programs are always running in the background (Skype is guilty of this). Deleting, or moving to a separate hard drive, videos, pictures, and other personal files will help as well.       Install AdBlock AdBlock is a catch 22. On the one hand it will prevent unwanted ads and popups, but on the other hand it does eat up a lot of memory. Your computer may actually slow down because AdBlock is running. There are some sites that are loaded with ads, so you can turn AdBlock on when you know you’ll visit those sites. There are others that are mostly ad free, so you can disable AdBlock when using those ones. Or a better alternative is to simply have 2 browsers. Use Firefox with AdBlock installed for sites that have popups, and use Chrome without AdBlock for regular browsing.       Cleanse any Malware Malware is the bane of the computer user’s existence. Most people mistake malware for viruses (although viruses are much more damaging). These little bugs are small program files that run on your computer. If you have never cleansed your computer of Malware, stop reading this (bookmark the page first of course) and download MalwareBytes. Run the program and get rid of all the bugs on your system (this could take a while, go make a sandwich and have a cup of coffee while it runs).       Upgrade to Solid State The world of computers is constantly shifting. One of the big movements lately is having solid state drives that can hold incredible amounts of memory. Here’s the difference. The hard drive in your computer (whether it’s a laptop or desktop) functions by spinning a disk and writing onto that disk. If your laptop is running and you drop it, that disk gets out of whack and you may likely destroy your hard drive (and lose your files). A solid state drive, on the other hand, has no moving parts. These have been around for years (your thumb or flash drive is a solid state drive) but they have recently been optimized for full computer use. At iDoctor our computer repair specialists can upgrade your drive from traditional to solid state and speed your computer up significantly.       Upgrade your RAM RAM, which stands for Random Access Memory, is temporary memory that your computer uses when running programs. Think of it this way: you have a big bookshelf that holds 1000 books. But you also have a night stand next to your bed that holds one or two books. The night stand is your RAM, the book shelf is your hard drive. While files are in use they are constantly writing files and working through your RAM in order to run. If your night stand is too small, the programs can’t work as fast as they could with more RAM.       Clean Your Computer Sometimes you just need to open up your computer and clean out the dust. Have you ever popped open the side of your desktop and looked inside? If not, then it likely has a lot of buildup. Power everything down, and open the computer. Take it outside, and using canned air (the type usually reserved for spraying the junk out of your keyboard) lightly blow out the dust. Be careful because you might knock a cord loose, or worse break a solder. If that happens, you need to bring it in and have our computer repair techs fix it.       iDoctor is Your Computer Repair Resource Slow computer, broken computer, or computer in need of optimization, we can get you back on track to using your device to its fullest potential. Try these methods, and if your computer is STILL too slow, it might be time to upgrade your PC or Mac. Bring it in and we can consult with you as to whether it will be cheaper to fix or upgrade, or if it will be a better use of your time and money to just buy something new (if that’s the case, we can transfer all of your old files over). iDoctor has 2 locations in Billings. 960 S. 24th St. W. Ste. B (by Dos Machos) on the West End, or 315 Main St. Ste. 200 (just past Airport Rd on the east side of the street) in the Heights. Come see us today! ...read more

Xerox Keeps Color Costs in Check with Newest Multifunction Printers

The innovative technology inside Xerox Corporation's first high-speed solid ink multifunction printers (MFPs) gave thousands of businesses around the world a hassle-free, low-cost way to print in color every day. Three new MFPs built on the award-winning ColorQube® platform save customers money with faster print speeds and simple-to-use features that make work easier.Companies can cut color print costs in half with the Hybrid Color Pricing Plans available on the Xerox ColorQube 9300 Series – paying only for the amount of color on a given page. This is an important differentiation when using just a little bit of color, such as a company logo on letterhead."The Xerox ColorQube 9200 Series broke new ground in office color printing by turning the cost equation on its head. It gave companies an affordable way to use color every day – something they have requested for years," said Robert Palmer, director, InfoTrends Digital Peripherals Consulting Service. "The new Xerox ColorQube MFPs deliver the cost savings businesses have come to expect from solid ink technology."The cartridge-free MFPs print and copy at speeds up to 55 pages per minute (ppm) in color, 60 ppm in black and white, and scan as fast as 60 impressions per minute in color.Other benefits of the ColorQube 9300 Series include: Color that gets noticed– Solid ink produces consistent color prints, regardless of media type, with intuitive features like Color by Words, a color-editing tool that allows foraccurate and vibrant colors from the first print. Walk-up convenience– Employees can easily print from and scan to a memory stick or thumb drive via the USB port located on the side of the MFP. Built-in security– Image overwrite electronically "shreds" data on the MFP's hard drive while 256-bit encryption protects information flowing through the device. Network authentication prohibits unauthorized access by validating user names and passwords. Lower environmental impact– The ColorQube 9300 Series is ENERGY STAR® qualified and generates up to 90 percent less consumable and packaging waste than comparable laser devices. It includes only one replaceable component – a cleaning unit with an average life of 330,000 prints – that can be recycled through the Xerox Green World Alliance program. Additional productivity options include simple mobile printing. On-the-go workers can print securely from any email-enabled smartphone, tablet or laptop without downloading an application, loading software or searching for online printer information. Solid Ink Savings Cleveland-based Medical Mutual of Ohio installed 140 Xerox ColorQube MFPs to save thousands of dollars annually on administrative expenses. "With the Xerox ColorQube we are comfortable printing more in color. Combine the ease of use and environmental benefits, and switching to solid ink MFPs was a logical move. Plus, less hassle and more savings mean extra time and resources we can reallocate to our core business," said Andy Balazs, vice president, IT, Medical Mutual of Ohio. Availability The list price for the ColorQube 9300 Order taking begins immediately in North America and other regions of the world will soon follow.  Contact Replica Business Solutions in Billings, MT for more information.  You can call 406.839.9228 or visit www.rbsmontana.com . ...read more

Managed Print Services A Smart Investment Despite Challenging Economy

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Dec. 08, 2009 -- Deployingmanaged print services(MPS) is a strategic priority for companies looking to uncover new ways to save money, according to a survey undertaken in the U.S. and Europe by research and analysis company Quocirca and co-sponsored by Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX).Nearly 70 percent of survey respondents say better management of their print infrastructure is a strategic imperative, with cost savings driving the MPS investment. Even during the economic recession, more than 90 percent say they will continue with plans to deploy MPS to reduce the cost of printing, sharing and updating documents."The survey findings support the fact that the economic downturn is actually raising the profile for the cost savings potential that comes with MPS," saidStephen Cronin, president,Xerox Global Services. "Now more than ever, companies are calling on Xerox as the MPSmarket leaderto proactively manage print output and spur growth by giving back valuable employee time."Specific survey findings support the cost-savings opportunity provided by MPS:41 percent of respondents say printing accounts for more than 10 percent of their IT budget; in the financial services sector this number rises to 65 percent.Nearly half of respondents expect to gain savings of more than 30 percent through an MPS contract.60 percent of current MPS users are satisfied with the cost savings achieved since implementing MPS, with an additional 25 percent indicating that the cost savings exceeded expectations."MPS users stand to gain additional cost savings by extending MPS beyond the office print environment to include their in-house print center," said Louella Fernandes, principal analyst, Quocirca. "Seventy-five percent of our respondents manage the print center internally or use a separate print vendor; this means they would still benefit from a comprehensive MPS plan to keep printing cost effective across the entire enterprise, not just in the office."Xerox recently became the first vendor to connect the office environment with the in-house or in plant production print center.Xerox Enterprise Print Servicesextends the MPS cost-savings opportunity by making print more efficient in the print center and in the home or virtual office. The survey also indicates that companies want MPS to work for the print infrastructure and equipment they have invested in already. Eighty percent of respondents rated the capacity for a partner to manage devices from multiple vendors as either important or very important. Xerox currently monitors approximately 1.5 million devices from multiple vendors worldwide.Xerox was positioned by Gartner, Inc., in the Leaders Quadrant in the"Magic Quadrant for Managed Print Services Worldwide"for 2008 and 2009 and named MPS market leader in Quocirca's 2009European MPS report. For more information about Managed Print Services, contact Replica Business Solutions @ (406) 839-9228 or on the web atwww.rbsmontana.com ...read more
