Sweet Peppers Deli

We discovered Sweet Peppers on a girls trip to see Elvis's birthplace in Tupelo earlier this year. We went on to visit family in Ar. On our way back we arranged to go by there again for lunch. We were so impressed we went back by again on another trip to visit our family in Ar. this summer coming back once again on our way home to Georgia. We were delighted to discover while there that a new Sweet Peppers will be opening soon in Athens Georgia, just 30 miles from our home. Can't wait to try it! ...read more

This is a beautiful restaurant with great food. The pizza is delicious, and there is a really nice buffet. There is a nice bar with TV and an outside dining area. Highly recommend! ...read more
The Rankin House/Special Occasions

I booked my ceremony and reception at the Rankin House a year in advance and paid a $500 deposit to secure the date. We had a sit down meeting a few months later, and when we walked in, the owner was completely puzzled as to who we were -and even tried denying that we paid a deposit. Although it was hurtful, we let it go and proceeded with the consultation. At that time we told her our budget, which in my opinion, -and everyone I have spoken to agrees- was more than enough. At the time she acknowledged our limits. Fast forward to four months before the wedding: She never called to discuss anything with us, and did not even return our e-mail. When I called to ask her a question, she first of all, didn't know who I was... then started in on how much extra we would have to pay her. When she broke her verbal agreement, we were forced to back out of the deal. And even though she broke the agreement, she wont even give our deposit back.
