Mississippi State is a part of the east central region of Mississippi, situated just past Starkville, and is the largest university in the state. In 2009, Mississippi State was ranked 18th on the Forbes list of "America's Best Colleges." Major attractions include the Mississippi Entomology Museum, Dunn-Seiler Geology Museum, and the Starkville Community Theatre. Each year in the fall season the school plays its annual homecoming game. The school offers several major degree programs including accountancy and doctoral degrees.
