Washburn is a part of the Barry County region/metro area of Missouri. Major attractions include Flag Spring Conservation Area and Roaring River State Park. Each year in the winter season there is the Annual Gateway Match Up Volleyball Tournament. Among the biggest companies in Washburn are Wilsons Garage and Haven of the Ozarks Animal Sanctuary. The biggest schools here are Southwest Elementary School and Southwest Middle School. One of the best places to visit when you are in Washburn is Pea Ridge National Military Park.
