Bill Cockrum is Dedicated to Helping our Local Children in Need!
August 16, 2008 St. Louis, Missouri Children’s Home Society of Missouri (CHS) hosted its signature fundraising event, “Downtown Motown” on August 16 at The Hyatt Regency St. Louis Riverfront. Board president, Gregg Lepper, emcee Vickie Newton, KMOV News Channel 4 and Bill Cockrum, Bob Cockrum Liquidations, welcomed over 300 guests. Thanks to Bill’s authentic compassion and talented auctioneer skills, guests stepped up to provide generous funds to renovate the children’s bedrooms, nursery and home. “Downtown Motown” raised over $130,000—a record year for CHS. The Fabulous Motown Revue generated great “Motown” enthusiasm and entertainment for the evening. “As we celebrate our 16 year of hosting this event, we thank the community for helping us improve the quality of life for children in need,” said executive director Karen Nolte, who has served CHS for 23 years. Gregg Lepper, chairman of the board, said “Each year our event gets better and each year Bill Cockrum does an amazing job with our auction. We are extremely grateful for his dedication to our children.” Bill has dedicated many years of volunteer service to help provide permanent, safe and loving homes for abused and neglected children. CHS is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children in need through adoption services, education and counseling programs, and developmental disabilities services.
