Went to the store in Sunset Hills, MO today. Acacia, the manager on duty, refused to do an even exchange for harnesses I purchased that were simply too small. Product on the shelf, the harnesses in a PetSmart bag with the tags on, the receipt at home. When I questioned her why I couldn't exchange the product (I didn't ask for store credit or cash back) and to show me where in the return policy harnesses were exempt, I was told that it was the manager's discretion to refuse service. When I asked, "Why?" she told me they were high-theft items and I would have to prove purchase TO EXCHANGE THEM FOR THE RIGHT SIZE WITH TAGS ON THEM. Went to Brentwood and had zero issues. I had even run home to grab the receipt and he never once asked for it. Clearly Brentwood doesn't assume their customers are thieves. I will only go to PetCo from now on. Inexcusable!! ...read more

My first trip to VCA Bal-Coeur was for one of the most difficult and painful reasons imaginable, the need to put a beloved friend of 10 years to sleep. I called just before closing on a Monday to ask the cost for euthenasia of a large breed dog and then proceeded to explain my full situation (new to the area, just moved from TX, my buddy was 12 yrs old with a cancerous mass on his jaw and he had stopped eating). The person on the phone, Kate, was kind, patient and understanding. When I arrived the next morning my buddy, Roscoe, and I were greeted by name and led to an exam room that was prepared for him with a blanket so he could lay down. The Dr. and aids we so compassionate and patient as I lay with my buddy in his last moments. The most amazing thing the staff did was to honor my request to have a plaster cast impression of Roscoe's foot print, something they were not prepared to do, however someone on the staff went to a craft store to gte the supplies, then they called me to let me know they were able to do it. This final act means so much to me, a final small bit I can keep from a very special freind that protected me and my family of more than 10 years. Amazing staff, amazing and compassionate care. I will happily drive the 20 miles from downtown St. Louis to take my other furry family members to this hospital. ...read more

I have taken both of my dogs to Dave van Garderen at Kennelwood for training starting when they were four months old. I have found Dave to be both professional and caring for my dogs and my training desires for them. Both of my dogs are very large and I wanted them to be trained to be well behaved and to walk with me without pulling me. Not only did Dave train my dogs, and me, how to walk nicely together, he also trained my older dog to compete in Rally Obedience and to become a therapy dog. Therapy dog work is something that my older dog and I love to do together and I am so proud of how well behaved he is during these visits. When I take my dogs out in public, I get many compliments on how well mannered they are and that is something that I could not have accomplished without Dave's training. I have referred my daughter and many of my friends to Dave for training their dogs and they have all been very well pleased with the results of the training and with Dave's very professional manner. In addition, he is a very nice young man and my dogs love him!\t\nI have also used Kennelwood for grooming and boarding and I have been very pleased.
