Over the years, we have seen plenty of self-promoted Green janitorial services. Of course, the reason for this is to impress clients without really making the commitment to operate a Green janitorial service. More often than not, a janitorial service will make up a logo (or buy one online) that they use to promote their company as Green. Unfortunately, that is often about as far as the true Green effort goes. To justify their Green commitment, token gestures can be made. In most cases, the company will by some Green cleaning products without a big concern for the training of the staff or the actually Green cleaning principles. Well, prepare yourself for what is coming next! Companies are getting wise to the "Green Pretender" routine and are now asking, "Who authorized your Green certification?" This can get embarrassing when the company has to admit that they bought it off the Internet for a small investment. It is equally embarrassing to admit that a graphic artist make it up without any true support. You can only trick people for so long, and they will then ask the more meaningful questions. In the janitorial world, there has been a lot of Green pretenders that will not be able to answer the credentialing question. That will cost them business.
