RUDE, RUDE, RUDE! If you are a little old lady selling your home and forced to move into low income housing, do NOT list with this lady. Completely unprofessional and rude. Home was sold for less than market value, and new apartment complex needed information showing the value and sales price (low income program) and she yelled and hung up on them. ...read more

MAC Property Management

MAC Property Management in Kansas City is a terrible company with little to no regard for customer service or landlord tenant law. They had me sign a lease that stated I would only have to pay $100 more a month after my lease term without signing a new contract. When the lease expired, they demanded an extra $500 a month and could not explain why or even understand how this is ILLEGAL WITHOUT SIGNING AN AGREEMENT THAT STATES THEY RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THE TERM AT WILL. Furthermore, they were extremely rude and unresponsive when I confronted them about this issue. During a snow storm, the heat went out in my building and I was told they had to order a part to fix it which would take days. This violates the warranty of habitability that's inherent in all residential leases. After no less than 3 complaints, MAC dropped off an ineffective space heater. The hot water was also off in my building for a week with zero explanation. When I confronted MAC about this, they seemed confused and unconcerned. When I decided that I'd had enough of their horrendous ability to manage residential properties, I gave my 30 notice. Vannesa DeSloover, the residential services manager, made a mistake on the move out date. Instead of accepting her mistake responsibly and correcting the problem, she decided to repeatedly send me a move out notice with the wrong date. Instead of fighting these incompetent people, which was well within my legal rights, I moved out as soon as possible in order to relieve myself of their irritating and inept behavior. They are a lost cause masquerading as a "cool place to live." They should all take lessons on how to manage a residential property and act professionally in accordance with the law and acceptable customer service standards instead of promoting beer nights and pool parties. DO NOT WASTE ONE SECOND WITH THE NIGHTMARE THAT IS MAC PROPERTY MANAGEMENT. ...read more

I haven't dealt with such poor people skills in a very long time. I had left a message earlier in the day with the hope of scheduling an appointment to view some apartments. When I was called back, a very rude and moody woman greeted me. I believe it to be Christina Boveri, the founder of this farce of a company. Unable to tolerate such poor behavior and people skills I quickly ended the call. I will not deal with a such a rubbish company. Coming from the LES in Manhattan, the bar needs to be raised out here. If this is what Kansas City has to offer, then it is a very sad day indeed! Shame on you Boveri Realty Group. ...read more

How To Find An All-Utilities-Included Apartment In Kansas City

Finding an apartment is no piece of cake. There are several avenues you̢۪ll have to pursue before landing in the perfect place. Read on for some help on where to look. As educated consumers, it is our responsibility to fully undertake a cost benefit analysis before making any purchase. And an apartment with all utilities included is certainly one of the best ways to save money. The key point to note here is that "included is not equal to free". Just like any agreement at the bottom of the page has an asterisk saying 'terms and conditions applied', it is no different in the apartment finding spree. Therefore it is very important to know the terms and conditions, the utilities included and everything else before undertaking any particular course of action. All utilities included is a very generic term that certainly is not what we think it is. The building does not pay them and the cost comes down to us eventually one way or the other. The convention that is followed is that the costs are included but you are still paying for them because your maintenance is higher. However you are certainly paying less for the services than you likely would otherwise. You may have to look anywhere and everywhere to find an "all utilities includedapartment" in Kansas City. 1. GO INTERNET: The best place to search for a potential home is online because you'll be able to widen your search with the numerous options available and also filter it according to the utilities you need. Utilities like electric are seldom included. However gas and water are common to find. When you have sufficiently browsed through your options you can then go physically examine your would be abode. If you're looking for small apartment complexes, you will likely find them on rental websites. 2. GOING OLD SCHOOL: If online is not your thing you can also look for it in the local newspapers or other print media that might be available. Advertising vacancies online might not be preferred by some and hence weighing the options through print media seems like a good idea when you can also obtain discounted rates through them. You will also be able to know what utilities they are providing firsthand. 3. PEP TALK: Now if you're not willing to put that much time and energy into them you could always pick up your phone up and call a real estate company that is well versed with the area and can provide you with their expertise after examining your requirements comprehensively. 4. APPS Technology as we know is always advancing and we have apps for absolutely anything and everything. So you could always download apps which sometimes also offer added features such as a 360 degree view of the advertised apartment. They are designed with simple interfaces that make listings readily available with up to date information if at all you are faced with a tough choice between two similar units in different places you can easily solve the tie by mapping out your potential route to work, the gym and the store. Your Smartphone GPS will then be your rescuer and will map out what kind of resources would be within a walking distance, driving distance or just too far out of the way. 5. EYES ALL AROUND: If none of the options above entice you, you could always look around for Now Open or Leasing signs and walk right in! There will likely be someone ready to talk to you about their options and show you some available units. 6. FAMILY AND FRIENDS: Lastly you could always talk to your friends and family and see if they have any prospects matching your needs. Because you will be living at that place it is important that you vibe with it and hence, the more options, the better. Happy Searching! ...read more
