Nike Air Force 1 that Lights Up with LEDs
One shoe we'd love to be able to work on more is the Nike Air Force 1. As iconic as the shoe is after 33 years it's hard to improve upon them nor do they offer an effective platform for our LED retrofitting. Nicknamed the Medal Stand. This AF1 were given to United States of America's Olympic athletes who achieved a medal winning performance during the 2012 Summer Olympics and offered in limited numbers at Nike Sportswear retailers. CUSTOMIZING THE NIKE AIR FLIGHT 89 FOR THE FIRST TIME
The feeling of customizing a specific sneaker model for the first time is exciting but also presents itself as more of a challenge. Having never imagined what the different panels could hold can leave you with feelings of a racing mind, stumped or confused. For this seventh pair in our Project series the Flight 89 was finally knocked off our list of shoes to customize. Luckily this is probably one of the best F89's you'd ever find as they were actually from the NikeLab series meaning they were put together with nicer materials than much of what you'll find by Nike these days. Seeing as the shoe began as two contrasting pieces: an all black upper and an all white sole we didn't want to sway too far from that identity. So we built a bridge between the two colors with, yet again, another of our take on elephant print. Painting and engraving the print in white on black upon the four lateral and medial toe panels. Throw in our signature LED lights and we've added a few more pieces of excitement on this already premium sneaker.
