Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri is located in south central Missouri within Pulaski County. The town has good access and is just two miles south of Interstate 44. As of the 2000 census, the town had 13,667 residents. The town is named in honor of Major General Leonard Wood, who was awarded the Medal of Honor.
