Warroad is city in Roseau County, Minnesota known for its sport fishing and for it strong hockey tradition. It is known as "Hockey Town USA," and has produced NHL and Olympic players. Major attractions include the Pine to Prairie Birding Trail and the Seven Clans Casino. Each year in July is the Traditional Independence Day Celebration featuring art shows, street and boat parades, a chili cook-off, banks, games and recreation, and the most spectacular fireworks display in northwest Minnesota. Among the biggest companies in Warroad are Marvin Windows and Doors, and Doug's Supermarket The schools here are part of the Warroad Public School District. One of the best places to visit when you are in Warroad is Warroad Point Park. Famous persons from Warroad include Father Auneau, who was the French Catholic priest who accompanied explorers and soldiers in their search for the Northwest Passage.
