Sleepy Eye is a part of the Southwestern region of Minnesota known for its specialty shops and antiques. Major attractions include the Sleepy Eye Depot Museum. Each year in the August there is a town celebration called Buttered Corn Days. There are many small and large businesses in Sleepy Eye, two of which are the Red Rock Stucco Company and TNT Seamless Gutters. There is a public school, a Catholic school, and a Lutheran school. One of the best places to visit when you are in Sleepy Eye is the water park. Famous persons from Sleepy Eye include Dana Kiecker who was a major league baseball pitcher.
