Friends and I booked a trip to Paris, France with Lost Travel through Groupon Sept 2012. We tried several times before the trip to contact James at Lost Travel and we were unable to reach him and despite leaving numerous messages, he never returned any calls. Finally, with less than 3 days to go before our trip, James called and told us that our guided tour would no longer be guided. He told me that an outlined itinerary would be sent to me via email by the next morning(in lieu of not having the tour guide) and he and his company would be up all night to remedy the problem. Well, the email never came. Fortunately, we were quickly able to cancel our trip through Groupon. We rebooked on our own and still took the trip to Paris and thankfully we did not use the Lost Travels agenda which had us at various museums the days they were closed!!! Because we rebooked the same hotel, we met a sweet father and his daughter who were unable to cancel their trip through Lost Travel. They looked heartbroken and I hope they were able to recoop some lost money. It's a shame to look forward to your dream trip only to have it turn out to be a scam! I booked a tour through Groupon with the company thinking that they must have some reliablity to them. I was definately mistaken. I had purchased a tour package to Octoberfest in Munich 2012. A week before trip, the tour was cancelled, after I had already booked my flights and other hotel stays before and after the regular tour. Unfortunately, I had called the company and paid the additional taxes, fees, and an optional tour extrusion that wasn't included in the Groupon deal. After the tour was cancelled I have repeatedly called (to which I only get an answering machine) and left numerous emails ( all unresponded to) on getting a refund for the part I paid directly to their company.
