Thank you for your quick turnaround on captioning my video! My deaf and hard of hearing clients were VERY impressed with the quality!! Chaz was great to work with! The price is a STEAL compared to going with the big guys and the quality of transcription was spot on perfect. I will definitely recommend your company to my colleagues. ...read more

We gave you an extremely complex video filled with technical jargon and you got it all! You are definitely WORD WIZARDS! Other captioners had messed up the technical phrases which wiped out the value of the video! We'll be back with our next video soon! THANKS! ...read more

Back from the Cabin

We spent four glorious days at the cabin. My parents had just bought the second polaris jet-ski or "watercycle" as my Mom calls it. The dogs had tons of fun. I relaxed and wore out my arm muscles by riding those machines as much as I could. I was coming down off a high of auditioning for the State Fair Talent Show on Friday night. I play with the band "The Tremblers" as the drummer. We did our song, and then took off in our separate directions. I went to the cabin. The performance was stellar, and I imagine that we are going to at least get a spot in the talent show. I have another project to work on from the Department of Human Services. Lots of crat-speak and jargon. Have to keep on my toes! I also am trying out Dragon Naturally Speaking for the first time. I'll try it, and report back to you all. . . Bye! ...read more

Ethics

I've been transcribing some stuff for a captioning project I just finished. Now, what is the ethical question when somebody says on a video "perspective" and you know they mean "respective" and that person also happens to not be a native english speaker? Do you put the correct word in there, or do you just transcribe it as is? Don't get me wrong I'm not a "know-it-all". . . I just happen to know that the guy screwed up. Captions are a tricky little wicket. If you caption every word you can make someone look like an idiot. I often find myself omitting words just so they don't look so bad. . . Captions are the wave of the future though, with everyone's travel budget slashed companies are using videos more and more to train people. Webinars and teleconferences are now the norm for meetings, executives only get on planes when somebody dies. Most of those videos are not captioned. Especially if archived. Captionmax charges $800.00 per video hour with a three hour minimum. Wow! I only charge $300.00 per video hour, with no minimum. I hope someone will appreciate that! ...read more
