My mom had a pre-paid cremation with Sunrise and all of the funeral arrangements arranged with them. She had done this 10 yrs prior to her death, with inflation this cost when the day actually occurred would've been much more. Sunrise still honored the decade old charges, not charging me a penny more, which is just honest, good ethics in this day and age. My mom's arrangements were left to my brother and I, 35 and 33 respectively. This was a HUGE deal for being so young, too young. The director of the funeral home (cant remember his name) guided us so much we cant even say enough kind words. We didn't know what we were doing, but he was helpful, kind, patient, and compassionate through the whole ordeal. He even helped guide me as to the steps of what was to happen at the service, as I was clueless. I feel they did a wonderful job!! Now, the grounds, I thought was beautiful, totally beautiful. two new drainage systems here in the cemetery, leveled and changed the grade in three different sections of the cemetery. We have restored our old stone chapel. We have invested in new power equipment to aide in maintaining the grounds, including three Zero Turn lawn mowers, a Gator, Bobcat and a Trac-hoe with many attachments. We have rocked and reinstalled all of the vases on the outside of three out of five of our mausoleums. Also this year we have started on the restoration on the inside of our mausoleum. The first phase in the restoration was the replacement of the ceiling. Unfortunately it sounds like your visit coincided with the replacement of the ceiling, which was a very dusty and dirty process. The mausoleum will be under restoration throughout the summer of 2013. My goal is to restore the mausoleum and make it the best mausoleum in the Twin Ports Area.
